Violinist Aaron Boyd, formerly of the Escher Quartet, guides you through the rich history of chamber music’s defining form – the string quartet.  For more than 250 years, the string quartet has had a special, unparalleled place in Western music.  Whether you’re a music connoisseur or curious listener, discover why composers continue to turn to this iconic form for music of their deepest personal expression.    

Musical transcription—rewriting a piece for different instruments—can breathe new life into familiar works. Mozart is the focus here, as seen through the lens of Beethoven, Schnittke, and even Mozart himself!

Classical music was never the same after The Hot Club of France introduced jazz to French composers in Paris in the 1920’s. Milhaud and Ravel used it as their inspiration in these two pioneering works.

We all know that wine pairs well with food, but tonight’s pairings are all instrumental. Unique pairings give this program a distinctive twist.

Chosen by national audition, the Pavone Quartet is the MITV 2025 Fellowship String Quartet. They will be playing all over Napa Valley for our seniors and children, but this is your chance to catch these rising stars in their solo public concert.

Designed for both individual performers and ensembles, this masterclass offers Napa’s finest young musicians the opportunity to receive expert guidance from Artistic Director Michael Adams and the 2025 Fellowship String Quartet—the Pavone Quartet. In our first-ever concert at Ehlers Estate, we’ll explore the music of J.S. Bach through the lens of Philip Glass, to reveal how both composers use sequences and symmetrical patterns in their music.

Bring your instruments to join us for our third annual play-along of the Pachelbel Canon! Two of today’s most celebrated composers, Grammy-winner Jessie Montgomery and Pulitizer prize-winner Caroline Shaw, share the program with Felix Mendelssohn’s brilliant Octet, composed when he was just 16 years old!

Experience an intimate performance with Grammy award-winning guitarist Jason Vieaux. The audience will be part of the action as Jason joins the virtuoso musicians of MITV in this interactive evening of music, food, wine and conversation.

Under the stars on the grounds of the beautiful Spottswoode Winery, festival musicians and jazz legends share the stage, blending classical and jazz music in this concert co- produced with the Napa Valley Jazz Society. Note: This concert is outside.

Our season closes with music of sweeping grandeur: Beethoven’s Archduke trio, performed by a trio of virtuosos. Afterwards, join us for a fabulous dinner under the stars as we celebrate the end of another wonderful season.
