Artistic Directors

Daria Tedeschi Adams

A founding Artistic Director of Music in the Vineyards, violinist Daria Tedeschi Adams has been a member of the Grammy Award-winning St. Paul Chamber Orchestra for over 30 years. A graduate of the New England Conservatory and SUNY-Stonybrook, she considers herself a lifelong student, always interested in hearing and learning a new piece of music. As an Artistic Director of Music in the Vineyards, Daria enjoys curating programs that move, inspire, provoke, and delight audiences. Her choreographic arrangements of pieces by J.S. Bach, Aaron Copland, Kevin Puts, Arvö Part and Pablo de Sarasate have been heard frequently on MITV programs. A mother to three adult children, Daria and husband Michael relocated to Napa during MITV’s 30th Anniversary Season in 2024.

Michael Adams

Adams Michael

Violist and founding Artistic Director Michael Adams has enjoyed a career path that has led down many roads, as an orchestra musician, radio host, chamber musician, writer, and concert host/commentator at Music in the Vineyards concerts. A graduate of the Eastman School of Music, Michael joined The Minnesota Orchestra viola section at the invitation of Music Director Edo de Waart following a successful tenure as a Host/ Producer for classical WCAL-FM and later, for Minnesota Public Radio. Michael’s inimitable style (dangerously irreverent) has become a signature feature of these concerts, while his three adult children remain mystified that anyone would pay to hear their father speak. Michael and Daria relocated to Napa during MITV’s 30th Anniversary Season in 2024.

Rebecca Blum – Executive Director

Rebecca joined Music in the Vineyards as Executive Director in July 2024. Raised in a musical family, it wasn’t until her senior year of high school—after hearing The Magic Flute—that Rebecca fully realized her love for classical music. She went on to attend the Oberlin Conservatory, earning a degree in Piano Performance and Music History/Theory, and initially considered pursuing a career in academia, beginning graduate studies in musicology at Columbia University.

However, the draw of working with live performing arts organizations led Rebecca to a career in orchestral management. She held positions with the New York Philharmonic, Honolulu Symphony, and Columbus Symphony before joining the San Francisco Symphony in 2004. Over the next 20 years, Rebecca was a member of the SFS leadership team, overseeing the Orchestra Personnel department and, in 2016, adding the Education department.

Although she continues to cherish orchestral music, Music in the Vineyards has held a special place in her heart since her first experience as a patron in 2018. She and her husband are excited to now call Napa home.
