This concert explores how today’s composers seek inspiration. Beethoven’s quartet Op. 18 no. 6 was the inspiration for Caroline Shaw’s Blueprint. Likewise, Christopher Theofanidis was inspired by Bach’s 3rd Brandenburg Concerto, and wrote Muse for exactly the same instrumentation.
